Financial Aid that’s Right for You By Tiffany Prescott and Olivia Gomez
As 2013 comes to a close, it is important to look ahead to the upcoming year. Beginning January 1st, students can submit FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications. It is important to submit your FAFSA as soon as possible to increase the amount of financial aid you are able to receive.
Once your application is processed, your school will have a financial package, including any grants and subsidized and unsubsidized loans, you qualify for. Keep in mind you do not have to accept all or any of the funds you receive, so it is always worth applying. Just make sure you apply sooner rather than later so the maximum amount of funds are available to you!
You can find all the information you need about FAFSA and fill out and submit your applications here: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
Oregon residents can apply for over 300 scholarships by filling out one application! Learn more at Oregon Students Access Commission: http://www.oregonstudentaid.gov/about-osac.aspx
Don’t forget to check in with your school to see which scholarships you might be eligible for.
