Throughout the Resident Spotlight Series, we highlight CHNW residents to get to know them a little better and learn about their experience at CHNW.
Tell us a little about yourself…
My name is Cory and I’ve lived in Oregon my entire life. I studied web and mobile development at a coding school in Portland. Currently, I’ve been working as a Barista at Starbucks.
How did you come to live here? or, what brought to here?
One of my girlfriend’s friends recommended CHNW. A studio opened up at Goose Hollow Tower right around the time we were looking for a place to live. The moment we saw the rent price we signed the lease. We had never seen a lower rent in downtown Portland before.
What has your experience been like living here? Does any particular experience or event stand out?
In addition to the calm neighborhood, the community events that CHNW hosts are very fun. The back to school event is by far my favorite with a lot of people, food, and music.
The RA’s have been great too. I remember one particular instance, our next door neighbors were being very loud. We told the RA on duty and she took our request very seriously. Almost immediately after we complained, the noise had stopped.
Would you recommend living here to other students? If so, why?
I would recommend living at CHNW because it’s a safe and accessible place to live. The Goose Hollow area is quiet and calm but also very close to downtown. There is also a great community at CHNW with caring staff and regular events.
