Throughout the Spotlight Series, we highlight residents and staff to learn about their experiences at College Housing Northwest (CHNW). In this post, we will feature Dylan, Transportation lead at Goose Hollow property.
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Dylan and I’m from Southern California. A student at PSU, I’m working towards a Bachelor’s of Science. I’m currently a shuttle driver for CHNW which is a lot of fun. I’m also in a band by the name of Keeper Keeper. Our band has gone on three tours and produced two albums. We just got back from a 16-day band tour along the West Coast.
How did you come to live here?
My girlfriend and I moved up to Portland from Southern California. We didn’t want to live on campus because it was too expensive. After searching for apartments close to downtown, we came across CHNW and have been very happy. We’ve been here for 3.5 years.
What has your experience been like living here?
My experience at CHNW has been wonderful. I really appreciate the close proximity to downtown. The staff have been by far the best part. They are amazing and have made our experience living at CHNW. Maintenance is also keen on arriving on time and fixing issues. The sense of community has impacted my experience as well. I love the people living at CHNW, everyone is so friendly. A diverse group of people.
Would you recommend living here to other students? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend CHNW for a lot of people. College is really expensive so it’s nice to save money on rent while still living downtown.
College Housing Northwest is a nonprofit organization founded in 1969 by students to support students in the areas of housing, academic success, and personal development.
